Description:
CITY CENTER ALTSTADT. The oldest church in Munich and dating from the late 12th century, this Baroque masterpiece offers sweeping views of the city and the popular Marienplatz below. There is no elevator, but on clear days the climb to the top of the steeple pays off with views as far as the Alps. It's also a beautiful example of medieval religious architecture and parallels the growth and development of the city.
